We are pleased to announce the availability of additional new blackberry varieties from the Arkansas Fruit Breeding Program:
A-2491T – produces large, uniform berries with an excellent flavor. It also has excellent transportability and a long shelf life. This early-season, high-yielding, thornless variety is ideal for commercial growers.
Ponca A 2538T is the sweetest cultivar from the Arkansas program. It produces high-quality fruit. The plants demonstrate excellent health and have high yield potential. Ponca is an excellent choice for local markets and home gardens and has good shipping potential. It is a florican, thornless variety with upright canes.
A-2526T produces juicy, uniform, and crunchy berries. This large, firm fruit has excellent transportability and a long shelf life. It is a mid-early, high-yielding, thornless variety with an upright growth habit.
A-2547T was selected for its large, elongated berries, excellent flavor, high productivity, and healthy plants. Both primocanes and floricanes have an erect growth habit. The plants are thornless. Anthracnose and cane and leaf rust do not affect the plants or fruit. Not for commercial shipping use.
